Behind the Lens: A Q&A with Our Favourite Wedding Photographer Elizabeth Jayne:
1. How did your journey into wedding photography begin, and what first drew you to documenting love stories?
The first friends' wedding... IYKYK. You never forget the first wedding you attend. It’s new, big, and incredibly special. When the first of the girl gang got married, it was SO MUCH FUN. I was already a photographer, but from that day on, I became completely obsessed with weddings. I’ve always been drawn to love, happiness, and joy, and it felt like a natural evolution for my photography to move into weddings. After all, what better thing to capture than the happiest day of people’s lives?
2. If you had to describe your photographic style into three words, what would they be?
Creative. Emotive. Storytelling
3. Looking back at the beginning of your career, what wisdom would you offer your younger self?
To shadow as many industry creatives as possible and absorb everything. Do it for free and assist wherever you can. It’s invaluable to watch and learn from masters of a craft. Never stop learning and growing.
4. In your perspective, which moment on a wedding day carries the greatest emotional weight to capture?
The vows and the speeches. These moments of raw emotion, connection, and gratitude bring the entire room to life. I’m almost always in tears alongside the guests.
5. In your lens, which delicate bridal details, the finishing touches that might otherwise go unnoticed, elevate a portrait from beautiful to unforgettable?
Veils and jewellery will always elevate a bridal look. It’s those thoughtful details that make all the difference.
6. What is the most creatively unforgettable entrance you’ve witnessed a couple make?
It wasn’t technically an entrance, but I once watched a couple parade their entire wedding party through London, from their chapel to the reception venue, carrying festival signs. It was completely on the go, full of energy, and honestly epic.
7. Is there a couple whose celebration left a lasting imprint on you? What made their story so memorable?
There have been a number of couples who have filled me with joy, simply because that’s exactly what their wedding felt like. Pure, unfiltered joy. The most unforgettable weddings are the ones where the energy is unmatched, where there is nothing but love and complete happiness. Weddings are big, emotional events, and sometimes things don’t go to plan. That’s life. But staying focused on the positives is everything, especially on a wedding day.
8. If you could document a wedding anywhere in the world, which destination or wedding venue is on the bucket list?
Iceland is a must-do elopement destination for me.
9. Which current wedding trend do you believe will transcend time and remain effortlessly elegant for years to come?
Vintage inspiration is truly having it's moment, from fashion and accessories to colour palettes and dresses, It’s also influencing the way weddings are captured, with a resurgence of 35mm film, lighting and flash, camcorders, and a more old-fashioned, guided approach to posing and storytelling. I don't believe this is leaving us anytime soon and I'm here for it.
10. As we look ahead, what aesthetic trends or inspirations do you anticipate defining the 2026 wedding season?
Colour combinations & vintage inpspirations are everywhere this year, weddings more than ever before are being influenced by fashion, think Vogue & Tatler and combine it with a wedding day. Uniqueness paired with a bold & curious approach to styling, florals, documentation and outfits. This year will be a standout year in the wedding industry!
As we wrap up our conversation, it’s clear that wedding photography is about so much more than beautiful images. It’s about preserving emotion, celebrating individuality, and capturing the fleeting moments that define a day. From heartfelt vows to carefully chosen finishing touches, every detail plays a part in telling a couple’s story. We’re so inspired by this thoughtful, creative approach to documenting love, and we can’t wait to see the unforgettable moments still to come through their lens.
A special thank you to Elizabeth for taking the time to share her journey, insights, and creative perspective with us. We’re so grateful for her thoughtful approach to capturing love stories and for the inspiration she continues to bring to couples and the wider bridal community.
With Love,
